He has successfully revitalized companies and brands in B2B and B2C environments: food, beverages, personal care, sporting goods, consumer electronics, travel, chemicals, professional services, credit cards, industrial products and retail. His base of experience across industrial products, consumer products and financial services enables him to quickly deconstruct complex business situations, change company orthodoxies, generate fresh powerful ideas, and align organizations to act on those ideas. What sets Mr. Guirguis apart is his innate ability to generate not only insights, but insights that are actionable and consequential; translating those into direct impact to the top and bottom line.
He is passionate about building dynamic teams. With P&L accountability for $80M in revenue, he provides functional oversight for strategic planning, corporate innovation, eCommerce/digital channels, marketing and sales. He leads professional services and marketing organizations with 250+ people. He delights in mentoring and developing people. Many of his direct reports have gone on to serve as CEOs and C-Suite executives.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Politics, Economics, Rhetoric and Law from the University of Chicago and has partnered extensively with business school faculty at Harvard, Stanford, MIT, University of Chicago and Northwestern.
Mr. Guirguis currently serves as Managing Director of Cogent Strategy, an innovation and strategic marketing advisory. Previously, Mr. Guirguis advised over 50 organizations across 20 countries as a leader of The Cambridge Group (acquired by Nielsen), Strategos (founded by Gary Hamel) and Cap Gemini (formerly The MAC Group and Gemini Consulting).
